Story telling

Storytelling describes the social and cultural activity of sharing stories, sometimes with improvisation, theatrics, or embellishment. Every culture has its own stories or narratives, which are shared as a means of entertainment, education, cultural preservation or instilling moral values.

How do you become a good storyteller technique?

Remember to:
  1. Immerse your audience in the story.
  2. Tell a personal story.
  3. Create suspense.
  4. Bring characters to life.
  5. Show. Don’t tell.
  6. Build up to S.T.A.R. moment.
  7. End with a positive takeaway.
A professional storyteller brings stories to life. This means choosing, adapting, shaping and delivering. Even historical ‘fact’ is open to interpretation, how much more so are folktales and urban myths? The storyteller brings out the interesting elements, adds new bits and leaves out the boring parts.
Humans are emotional creatures. My impression is that storytelling allows us to digest information more easily because it connects that information to emotions. … Storytelling is important because it is effective at teaching in a way that people can easily remember, and at helping people relate to one another.
